On June 23, 2020 two high school students, Tatiana Hickman and Cooper Roy, coordinated our town's first ever civil rights solidarity march, in response to the killing of George Floyd (and many others) by police officers.
The group of over 100 people marched down Route 9, with a police escort for safety along the busy road, and paused for 8 minutes and 46 seconds of silence in front of Town Hall, which also serves as our police headquarters.
It was a powerful moment, and a truly cooperative and well execute exercise of folks' First Amendment right to free speech and assembly.
