Thank you, Dan Heavens and Don Smerdon
Although unsuccessful in their run for the Marlborough Town Board, Dan and Don ran a good race. Marlborough had two Democratic choices for Councilman for the first time in several years. Each trailed the second-ranked candidate by fewer than 100 votes.
Al Lanzetta write-in campaign
The campaign to write in Al Lanzetta for Marlborough Town Supervisor was unsuccessful. The Ulster County BOE reports 367 write-in votes were cast for the office. It’s unknown how many were for former Supervisor Lanzetta, but we thank him for his efforts to give voters a choice in the unopposed race.
Ballot proposals
NO: Town of Marlborough proposal to extend the Town Supervisor’s term to four years.
YES: New York State proposal to build an Olympic Sports complex in Adirondack Park.
